It has been very quiet this past week. Although, it seems there was some trouble with one of the abductions. Rookwood was asking who dealt with Gilbert Vance, and it seems Bellatrix and Walden were the ones who took him from his home. I'm curious to know what happened.

How are your studies coming along with Occlumency? Have you found someone to instruct you on the practical side of things or are you still searching for a teacher? Are you still finding the texts I loaned you useful, or are you in need of further information? I could perhaps look into acquiring more books if you should need more reading material.

Since before Draco was born we have been neglecting things in society just a bit. We have not thrown a dinner party or anything of the sort in some time. I do realise much of that is because I made you stay in bed for a great deal of time, but I think we should remedy this. Perhaps we should have a dinner party sometime in the coming month. We wouldn't want it to be in December, of course, because we would not want to interfere with the Avery and Wilkes wedding, but the end of November might do nicely. What do you think? We could also do something in January, perhaps a a ball? I know it's not exactly my place to suggest such things, but it came to mind today with all the mentions of parties and the like in the journals for Halloween. I will, of course, leave all decisions and planning to you.

The pain from the mark the Minister intends to use to call us has faded over the last few days. I hardly notice it anymore. The pain didn't trouble me nearly so much as the thought of what Narcissa might say if she was ever to see it, however. That would be quite the scene. Thankfully there is nothing to see at the moment, and she may continue on blissfully unaware. I am glad that she did not even notice the occasional flinch on my part. Usually she is quite observant when it comes to such things.

I must say the mark is rather fascinating, and it is far less dangerous than using owls to send us messages. The spell we were taught is also quite impressive.

I wonder if any of the others are distressed over the choice of Bartemius and Severus for the next mission. While they are young and not quite as experienced as some of the other members in the group, I believe everyone should get a turn to prove their worth. I hope it goes well for them. Their success will be a success for the group, after all. If they fail, well, I imagine it will be taken care of quickly. There cannot be any costly mistakes.

It is quite amazing how quickly children grow and learn. Draco is smiling at everything these days. He is a very happy baby.
